Care

Keep outdoors throughout the year in a sunny, well-ventilated position. Water thoroughly when the soil begins to dry, but avoid keeping the compost permanently wet. Feed regularly during the growing season with a suitable bonsai fertiliser.

Japanese Black Pine responds well to careful pruning, candle management, needle thinning and wiring, making it an excellent species for enthusiasts who enjoy developing their bonsai over time.
